Offense
Approaching the short ball
andreliemIllustrates how a short ball turns the advantage around where the returning defensive player can approach and take time away from server.

3-4-3 Offensive Example
andreliemThis is an example of a basic soccer play in a 3-4-3 formation.
Offense
Doubles Basic Serve Wide
andreliemThis play illustrates a basic doubles situation where the serving (offensive) team starts by serving wide. Drawing the returner out, making them hit back cross court on a stretch. The server expecting a cross court return can take advantage of this by moving up court and taking a short ball with a volley. This all hinges on the server being able to make a good wide serve and their partner poaching left to force a cross court return.
Offense
Handler movement (Form 1)
timosynHandler reset movement from the open sideline. Scenario 1 - Hitting the dump.
Defense
Horizontal Handler Movement
charlaynaMovement for handlers for reset options. 1. Ideal places to receive the disc are on the break side (without losing too many yards) and up-field on the open-side. 2. Least ideal place to receive the disc is on the open side, behind the disc. This is not advantageous at all. 3. Handlers should always be making a move to get open - not receiving the disc flat-footed. This is not a rule, but a guideline.
Offense
Vertical Offense
charlaynaPossible flow example for vertical based on a few key points: 1. Open-side handlers should be 45 degrees behind the disc. To reset to this handler, this handler should cut up-line to the open side. 2. Break-side handlers should be in line with the disc. To reset to this handler, this handler should cut behind the handler with the disc and receive the disc on the break side. 3. The first cutter (cutter behind the inactive 3rd handler) should cut break. This is not a rule, just a guideline. 4. The last cutter should cut deep and cut back on the open side for a big under. This is not a rule, just a guideline - this cutter should mirror the first cutter.
