HS - Clam
P2tty- Labels of players are the same as what we discussed at practice; 1 & 4 are Deep-Deep and 2 & 3 are under (just remember the two middle numbers (2 & 3) are always covering the under whether it's vert or ho) Communication is key to keeping this Squid call effective. Ideally, 2 and 3 should talk to each other to cover multiple undercuts, and 1 and 4 should communicate with each other to establish a last back and rail assignment. No opposing player should pass either of you in the 1 and 4. You must establish who will be last back in the event of a FIRE call. 2 and 3 should have their backs angled parallel to their respective sidelines or shaded more inside (so not with their backs to the handler). This means this pair should be looking at each other. It will be a lot easier to cover ground, communicate cuts from behind each other, and cover the space between you two.

Defense
2-3-2 "Box" Zone (2-3-1-1)
jlaurieThe 2-3-2 "Box" zone is a containment zone, designed to "contain" the movement of the disc, limiting the options of the throwers to short passes between the handlers or in front of the wall. The overall goal is to get the offense to try to throw the disc over the top, where the “short deep” (player 6) is waiting or into the “box” (in the middle of players 1, 2 & 4, 3, 5). Player 3 plays a significant role in defending against cutters coming into the “box” as well as baiting throws. The “short deep” (player 6) is also a freelancer, cleaning up any passes over the top. If the offense manages to complete a pass into the “box” the entire defense shifts backwards, holding the same form and preventing additional passes upfield.

Offense
Banana break
LewisLPWarning: this play takes longer to develop. We must be efficient when it is called

Offense
What to do when other players don't maintain shape and do weird shit.
conjurorcaseyHere, I try to give examples of how to react when other team-mates aren't making good shape, or do weird shit, that doesn't make sense. This is obviously challenging, especially if the movement of the disc requires adjustment in position as well. But we just have to keep playing and thinking trying to recognise things on-field and reflecting off-field.

Offense
Shape maintenance, putting it all together.
conjurorcaseyShape maintenance when multiple things happen on the field during a point.

Offense
Shape Maintenance when the disc moves to the hat, and no dribbling occurs.
conjurorcaseyHow to achieve shape maintenance if the disc goes to the hat, but no dribble or immediate flow occurs.

Offense
Shape maintenance when the disc moves around the outside.
conjurorcaseyHere are some examples of shape maintenance when there's no dribbling occurring, and the disc moves around the edge points in the shape. Key takeaways here is: - The hat can stay as the hat, if flow is occurring. - players need to stay with the shape if the disc makes a substantial movement, as a spreading of the shape will result in disconnectedness. - The shape needs to rotate backwards if the disc moves towards the back field, or the side-line. - The shape needs to rotate forwards if the disc moves towards the centre, or downfield.

Offense
Shape Maintenance with multi-person dribbles
conjurorcaseyThis is a few examples of how to continuously engage in shape maintenance when the disc is being dribbled between more than two players.
