Offense
Breakside Side-stack
mill3163a vertical stack, but on the break side of the field. Players 3, 4, and 5 are "downfield cutters" and the cuts will come from the back of the stack. Since there are only 3 cutters, your resting period in the stack will be short. Players 1 and 2 are the "primary handlers", but if someone is playing good defense on them, we would like the nearest cutter to fill into that space that the cutting handler was in. More on that later.
Offense
H Stack
[email protected]This illustrates the "diamond" cutting that the active cutters should be doing. The active cutters are the two closest cutters to the disc, one is on the break side and one is on the open side with the break side cutter always cutting first (even if the force switches). This website makes it seem really fast pace for the active cutters, but this should not be the case during a real time point. Theoretically, the cuts should have a little time after one another and should not just be no stop running in a diamond. Also, notice how on the swing, the active cutters cut immediately and the furthest cutter from the disc cut deep. I want to emphasis that the deep cut on a swing does not have to go off every single time, but it is very useful at times.
Defense
flash poach.
hcon8900Poaching the upline and switching the cut with the handler defender to disrupt swings AND upline plays.

Downfield Big Box
HorsleykcpGoal: To work on our downfield defensive positioning and buffer to effectively deny and contest Drill Set-Up: Player 7 starts the drill as our designated thrower. They will be throwing to players downfield. Players 1 on offense/defense will start in a large square downfield marked out by cones. Player 7 should be no more than 10 yds away from the closes set of cones. Player 1 on offense will attempt to catch either an under or deep. Player 7 will throw once Player 1 on offense has passed either through the closest set of cones (an under) or the deepest set of cones (a deep). Player 1 on defense should assess where they are weakest/strongest defending (either deep/under) and look to deny their weakness and contest their strength.
