Offense
Ziggy 2
Santo GiacaloneAnother variation of Ziggy. This one against Zone D. Handlers will need to work hard getting open for dumps and then swinging hard to make the Cup tired. At some point handlers will see an open cutter, take those 10yd - 5yd shots. Cutters reset the disc back to handlers. Step #8 shows sideline handler looking up field. Only do this if solid option. Only do this when cup is tired or zone D has become disorganized. Also note on step four where cutter #4 gets jammed up by #5 who has the disc. Instead of running into cutter #5, #4 should continue the ziggy route and then #5 will follow after passing disc.
Offense
Ziggy1
Santo GiacaloneOne of the many variations of how to run Ziggy. Handler #2 (blue) needs to always be looking alive even though they won't be activated with this defensive setup. Handler #3 & #1 are working hard to get open and get the disc to a deep cutter coming in on the sideline. Deep cutter should always look for the reset until activated for the deep throw. Only a handler with strong back hand completion skills should look to give the second deep cutter a pass to the endzone.
Offense
Disc on Break Side B
kaizhangDisc starts static on open side. Opponent plays person defense. This is very similar to play Open Side B. Initial movement is identical, but I will play out another possible and ideal scenario.
Offense
Disc on Break Side A
kaizhangDisc starts static on break side. Opponent plays person defense. This is the ideal scenario from starting disc on the break side. All throws are open side throws. Continuation Step is one of the many scenarios that can play out after the first pass.
Offense
Disc on Open Side B
kaizhangDisc starts static on open side. Opponent plays person defense. First pass is a break to the middle of the field, which enables power position for the receiver (5) to throw long to the continuation cutter (4). Compared to play Open Side A, this play is more likely to happen if the mark on the initial thrower (2) is cheating on their mark, or if the defender on (5) is poaching off the lane and not sticking to (5). Note that (3) stays active to engage their defender, who could otherwise disrupt (5)'s throwing lanes
Offense
Disc on Open Side A
kaizhangDisc starts static on open side. Opponent plays person defense. This is the ideal scenario from starting disc on the open side. All throws are easily executed open side throws. The play ends with either us scoring, or making a vert stack in the endzone.
Offense
Beating the wall
cvazquezThe key to beating the wall is to work the disc up slowly, and take advantage of well-timed cuts. We must keep one player in iso (isolation) and cycle out who is in iso as we move the disc. Recognize opportunities to move the disc closer with swings, and find holes in the wall for well-timed cuts in the endzone.
Offense
4s Vert Stack
cvazquezThe vertical stack gives us some more options for an offensive play that's different from the box. The idea is to allow for continual play after the first throw to ensure that we keep possession with high pressure cuts to potentially score a point in a few throws.
Offense
Gamma
cvazquezThis play is essentially the second handler (2) making a deep strike. 3 and 4 can support with well-timed in cuts, and availability for a swing/bail throw.
