1-2-3 Cone Drill
James Greeno1-2-3 Cone Drill Red1 is offense. Blue1 is defense. Coach is throwing. The coach will indicate 1, 2, or 3 to the offensive player by holding up that number of fingers. Only the offensive player should see the number. If a 1 is held up the offense has to try to score at the back corner cone (the 1 cone). To do so they can go anywhere they want before ending up at the 1 cone. If a 2 is held up the offense has to try to score at the front corner cone (the 2 cone). They can go anywhere before ending up at the 2 cone. If a 3 is held up the offense has to try to score at the middle endzone cone (the 3 cone). They must get within a few yards of the 2 cone before they can go to the 3 cone. THE OBJECTS FOR THE DEFENDER ARE TO: A) NEVER GET BEAT TO THE 2 CONE. DEFEND IT WITH YOUR LIFE! B) TRY YOUR BEST TO PRESSURE AND DISRUPT PASSES TO THE 1 & 3 CONES.
