set up for the strike swing. notice how the mark on the disc is different, being laterally flat, slightly backwards, in order to prevent a "around" throw. the mark on 2 should put themselves in between the most dangerous option, that being a "strike"
The move is executed by the off handler(2), waiting for 1 to look at him, then making a move. he should remain active rather than standing still, forcing the mark to re-position, and exploiting a failure to do so
after 1 looks off downfield options, 2 can make his move. he does so by bursting up the line, trying to get separation from his mark. it is up to him how to lose his man, but if executed correctly, should look like this.
however, 2 will not always be able to lose his man. in this case, he should stop around half way, and depending on where his mark is, move accordingly.
if his mark has closed off the strike...
he can come back for the around swing, which can allow for a throw to the break side.
if his man has not fully closed off the strike...
he can stop, then re-accelerate, once again making the strike a viable option.
this is also possible by faking the swing, then going back for the strike.
Enter step description...
(talking about defense now)
if the mark on the disc adopts a normal forehand force...
it is very easy to get the around swing off.
if the mark on the off handler is wrong...
the strike is an open cut.
