Step by step 8 steps
  1. Step 1

Notice the red team (Op = Opponent) is setup in an offensive slant

  2. Step 2

The Op9 and OpFs (Forwards) are the most dangerous players, so our Forwards defend the "posts" and "A" positions first

  3. Step 3

10, 12, 13 lineup in a straight line to defend their counterpart

  4. Step 4

9 plays behind the forwards and yells at them to get them in the right places. 11 plays across from his man (Op11)

  5. Step 5

15 stands in front of the ball at all times, but plays about 15 yards back from the defensive line. He observes the offense and tells his teammates where to lineup if they're out of position. He also plays a strong-safety type position and will move in when someone breaks through the defensive line. He is responsible for the last man in the Opponent's slant. Additionally, If someone kicks the ball, 15 will catch it

  6. Step 6

14 lines up across from his man, but stays about 10 yards back to help 15 if there's a ball kicked.

  7. Step 7

If the OpF's get the ball, our Forwards move up together to tackle them. 10/11/12/13/14/15 creep up a little

  8. Step 8

If the ball now goes to the backs, 10/12/13 move up together, 14 runs up and joins the line, 15 slides to the right (following the ball) and 11 moves backwards to support 15 for kicks. Forwards/9 run toward ball/next ruck
