Three handlers back, four cutters set the stack 15-20 yards downfield. Note O6 is slightly recessed. This is designed to discourage D6 from poaching the force-side cutting lane. Note O1 is slightly advanced. This is designed to 1) give O2 space to push slightly downfield if the disc swings to O6; and 2) so O1 can more easily make a deep cut when the opportunity develops.
O5 fakes deep and cuts in. O3 and O7 cut deep. These are the likely secondary cuts, so they will have to 1) be aware of when O5 is about to receive the disc in order to properly time their break; and 2) be aware of each other so only one cuts back in toward O5 while the other continues her deep cut.
O3 makes the in cut and O7 continues her deep cut. O1 is still drifting downfield and slightly toward the middle. If O7 decides to cut back inside, O1 will have the option of cutting deep to the back endzone cone. O4 moved to dump position: even with O5 on her break side. O2 moved downfield just a few yards in order to give O4 space. If D2 poaches, O2 should be be prepared to cut deep. O6 remains slightly recessed so as to not draw O6 into the cutting lane.
O3 doesn't get the disc so she clears to the break side. O7 recognizes this so she cuts in hard. O1 cuts toward the back forceside cone to give O5 a deep look. Notice how there is a slight clockwise motion to the cutting. O2 continues to drift slightly downfield in order to set up a swing cut if O4 receives a dump.
O5 throws to O7 and immediately runs downfield on the break side. O7 looks to see if O1 is open to receive the huck. O3 begins to cut deep either as a fake to come inside for O7 or to continue to the back enzone cone if O1 vacates the space. Notice the handlers are starting to get clogged. O6 will spring from the sideline to become the dump (even with O7). O4 will push out wide and downfield a little bit, preparing for a swing if O6 receives a dump. O2 has to push downfield, but she is really keyed on O5: as soon as O5 gets downfield, O2 will begin to drift back to her handler position.
O7 is in a bad position, trapped on the sideline. She wasn't able to get the huck to O1, so O1 made a "7" cut to the breakside of the endzone (perfect for receiving hammers). O3 faked deep and cut inside to give O7 a shorter option, but she is well covered. O5 is looking to cut deep to the enzone to replace O1 and give O7 a huck look. (If O3 had continued deep to replace O1, then O5 would cut inside.) O6 has moved to a good dump position. O4 is in a good swing position, slightly downfield. O2 is really far downfield, almost like a cutter. At this point, she's mostly trying to keep her defender occupied.
O7 can't get the disc to O5 deep or O3 short. She makes eye contact with O6 indicating her intention to make a dump/strike throw. O3 will clear out to the breakside and then drift downfield to give the handlers room. O5 will make a "7" cut just like O1 did earlier. O1 will drift upfield on the break side. O6 fakes strike and then cuts dump. O4 begins to cut toward the middle of the field. If O7 can't dump to O6, O4 will cut strike. If O7 does dump, O4 will make a swing cut. O2 is drifting upfield closer to her original handling line in anticipation of O4 or O6 receiving the disc.
O7 dumps to O6. O7 immediately cuts deep along the force sideline. O3 runs a little "wheel" route basically circling back from her clearing cut to make another in cut for O6. O4 makes a swing cut to give O6 the option of swinging the disc to the middle of the field (THIS IS WHAT WE WANT!). O2 continues to drift upfield, possibly setting up a continuation cut for O4. O1 drifts to the middle and is looking to set up a deep cut (if O3 gets the disc) or an in cut (if O3 doesn't get the disc and has to clear out). O5 is finishing her "7" cut and recognizing that O1 has drifted to her middle lane. She's preparing to drift upfield on the breakmark sideline to replace O1 as that outside cutter.
O6 swings to O4. O2 makes a continuation cut on the break side of the field, sprinting upfield. O3, having not received the disc on an in cut, needs to clear downfield along the force sideline. O5 sees O2running upfield for a swing pass, so O5 sets up sideline-hugging in cut in case O2 gets the disc. O1 is alone in the middle of the field, and she is looking to give O4 a downfield option after she receives the swing. O1 will prepare an in cut toward O4; how D4 marks O4 will dictate whether O1 cuts to the break or force side. O7 recognizes that the disc is being reset amongst the handlers and that she is unlikely to receive a deep pass. She also notices O3 streaking downfield on the force sideline and O3 streaking upfield on the break sideline. As such, she knows she’ll have to fill one of the middle lanes, so O7 drifts back upfield keying on O1so as to ensure that they are in separate lanes.
O4 receives the dump. O6 retreats to a recessed position. O2 is making a hard swing cut. O5 follows O2, preparing to gain lots of yards on the break sideline if O2 gets the swing. O1 opted to make an in cut to the force side. O3 is continuing her deep clearing cut. O7 is moving to a position where she can set up a continuation cut if O1 gets the disc.
O2 receives the swing. O4 recesses a bit and O6 pushes forward to set up a swing cut if O2 dumps to O4. O5 continues her in cut. O1 clears out to the far force sideline. O3, recognizing this, drifts upfield to replace O1 in her middle lane. O7 cuts in hard to set up a continuation cut for O5 (if she gets the disc) or provide a second option for O2 (after O5 clears out).
O2 throws to O7. O2 begins to move to a dump position, even with O7 and on her break side. O4 moves to a recessed position on O7’s force side. O6 sprints up the sideline offering O7 a potential big gainer on the force side. O5 breaks off her in cut and starts clearing deep in her outside lane. O3 makes a hard in cut to the force side. O1, recognizing this, begins to set up a continuation cut away in case O3 gets the disc.
O7 catches the disc. O2 in break side dump position. O4 in recessed force side dump position. O6 streaks down the sideline but is prepared to come back to her handler position as soon as O7 throws. O3 is cutting in hard. O1 is preparing a continuation cut, either a “7” to the break enzone corner or an in cut to the force side. O5 is keeping her defender occupied but also preparing to cut to an enzone corner (breakside if O1 cuts inside; forceside if O1 makes a “7” cut).
O3 receives the disc. O7 clears downfield breakside as quickly as possible. O4 moves to either a break or recessed force side dump position. O2 moves to either a swing or break dump position based upon where O2 goes. O6 might continue her up-the-line cut, but if she doesn’t get the disc, she’ll come upfield and position herself even with O3. O1 chooses to make a “7” cut to the breakside. Seeing this, O5 sprints to the force side enzone.
O3 throws to O5, aiming for the back forceside enzone cone. O1 was another option as she is in position for a hammer or backhand break. O7 has repositioned herself downfield and is getting ready to “set the vert stack” as the handlers will be yelling for that offense if we don’t score quickly.
Score!
