Standard sidestack. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING I CAN TELL YOU IS THIS: The last person in the stack must not be behind the initiating cutter.
Cutter has space on either side depending on how defender sets up. He can take his guy deep and get a huck.
Or he can stop and come back under if the defender stays close to him.
We will see this poach A LOT.
When this happens we are going to initiate a flood play to get open. 3 will go deep and engage both defenders. Then the bottom 3 cutters will all clear force side to leave the back of the stack unguarded. I want you to note that the cutters here can create legal picks on the poaching defender over there. He is reacting to the breakside cutter, but has no right to that path of pursuit. I want cutters to drive into him and give a screen.
Deep cutter comes back under for continuation to the break side.
We will also likely see this poach at times. Anytime we see poaches like this, IN ANY OFFENSE, handles need to get active.
Give and go move.
Either get it back to handle or look to hit cutter with the new window that is lacking a poach for an easy under.
Continuation if handle gets it.
If you look off the give and go, look for the cutter.
Cutter gets disc.
If neither player gets the disc, the reset will come from the front of the stack. Strike handler needs to threaten deep space and downfield cutter needs to gravitate into the stack to clear out and leave space.
Look first for an around.
1 starts cycling back into the stack at this point.
Or if the defender bites hard on the around, get upfield yards into huge, unmarked space. 1 is back in the stack letting another cutter initiate for the continuation.
Once we start cutting out of the sidestack, it is not quite as vital as during initiation to keep the stack all in front of the cutter, but they should do their best to be conscious and keep the stack close to handlers.
