Split stack starts with three handlers in HO formation and handlers named as pairs 1-2 and 3-4 that wait in the rest position at the edges of the pitch.
Inexperienced D will mark close man, but more experience D will step off to cover the long and under options.
The nominated pair (1-2) cuts first, initiated by the player on the break side.
Player 1 cuts long, and then under to isolate their defender into a one-on-one position.
If the pass is not on, player 1 clears out to their opposition side. Player 2 then cuts into the middle.
If player 2 does not get free, he clears out to the opposite side. The dump makes a cut, looking to keep the disc in the center of pitch.
Play resets.
If the first pair are unsuccessful, the 2nd pair become active, again initiating from the break side.
First pass is completed. We now look for the long continuation up field from player 4, who fakes to the break side...
Then cuts hard long to the open side...
... and then continues for the score.
