    This is the normal zone cup defense. The Cup is defending the handler with the disc, only allowing side throws. The three mid defenders are preventing in cut continuations, while the deep defender is prepared for any deep looks

  2. Step 2

    The cup allows a handler dump to the side line, and then readjusts on the new handler, the defenders take away in cuts

  3. Step 3

    In this situation, the handler still gets off a throw

  4. Step 4

    The mid defender does NOT defend the cutter with the disc, but moves back to his position in order to prevent in cuts, leaving the task of defending the disc-holder to the cup.

    The disc is dumped and the reset allows for continued defense.
