First, this is what happened. Jess swung and got ready to go for the give-and-go.
Jess goes upline, and #3 failed to recognize that she wasn't clearing out, and sets up for the reset at 45 degrees back on the openside.
Jess stops and comes back for an easy reset, but #3's defender poaches and gets the D.
Here's what should have happened IMO. Jess throws the break and gets ready for the give-and -go.
She goes slightly past parallel but isn't clearing out, #3 recognizes this and sets up his cut for her reset.
Jess comes back for the reset, and looks to continue breakside for a gainer to #3.
If the defense overcommits to the breakside (or if timing was bad), #3 simply curls and gets the easy strike for the score.
This is one where the #2 handler actually clears out and relieves the reset duty to the #3 handler. Jess swung and got ready for the give-and-go.
#3 starts setting up for #2's continuation and at this point is watching for the clearout.
#2 clears out, and #3 cuts for the reset (or strike if it's there).
#3 makes the nice reset cut, and will look to #2 for the continuation.
Score. ;)
