We pull
Cup sets up. A hole is left between the "heel" (2) and "toe" (3). The mid-mid (4) must sit in this hole. Other mids take their usual lanes.
the "toe" (3) denies the easy force-side swing and even follows the handler into the backfield
This creates a space that the wide mid (6) has to close out into. the Deep (7) or the mid-mid (4) have to cover for them if a cutter sneaks in behind.
Like so. (note that break side mid 5 also backs up to provide cover for the deep pinching)
If the breakside swing is made.....
We trap that sideline, with 3 again stopping the swing while 1 eliminates the dump
If they make a backwards centering dump.
we rally to stop the uprield throw and when the disc goes wide to the force side
we switch the mark. 3 now becomes the mark, forcing backhand while 2 remains the heel and 1 as the toe again clamps down on the open side swing while mid-mid fills the hole this leaves.
wide mid must come down to contest any possible "skip" swing .
7 takes all cutters sneaking deep and we hopefully force a pass into coverage or a crash which the heel (2) will d
