Here the disc is on the sideline in a 2-5 and the defence have set up a line trap-there are three ways that we will try to solve this issue. NB the stack is at a slight angle to increase the size of the open side
The handler looks infield and the second handler cuts towards them
The defender clearly blocks the up the line and the second handler goes for the swing and receives a lead pass swing into the pitch
As the second handler catches the disc the front of stack moves to receive a second swing before the force can be reestablished-notice how the first thrower has started to clear out
The front of stack receives this second swing and we are now on the other side of the pitch being forced into the pitch
Back to the beginning...
The play starts the same as before-handler looks in field and the second handler moves towards the first-notice on this occasion how slow the second handler's defender is to react
The second handler receives a lead pass up the line-notice how big the separation is-only throw if the separation between the two is big-you will have another option so DON'T JAM IT
The second handler has caught the disc with momentum and no force-especially good if you want to take a long option
The long option was a bit too risky on this occasion-however the defender has overcommitted on the force since he is chasing and the huck has been faked-giving an easy swing (or pop pass to the first handler) into the pitch (the disc obviously only comes out once you have got the defender to overcommit)-if you time that aspect wrong you can just reset the off the line drill again
Starting again one final time...
Same start again-it is a vital step so can't be overstated
The second handler has cut up the line but i s clearly not on-he can't juke back now so has to follow through it-both the front of stack and the man on disc recognise this and start to shape up for the second option
The handler throws a floaty swing to the front of stack to run onto in the middle of the pitch-achieving the end goal
