We have set up our offense ater turning the opposition and set up into a 2-5 vertical formation (the opponent are forcing forehand but this has little impact on the play)
The Second from back starts to make a cut (on this occasion an open under)
After realising that the second from back is cutting open side the person at the back of the stack makes an immediate move to cut into the break side
Both players have made their cuts but the handler is not comfortable throwing to either of them (notice here how the second and third in the stack have drifted back a bit
After realising that they aren't free both players start to clear out-the open cutter back into the stack at second and the break cutter long-at this time the handler has looked for the reset
The second handler has received the swing and the play has reset (the break cutter has remade his way back into the stack as fast as he cut
The offense tries again this time with two new cutters in the key positions-notice that they are still v cutting even though the break cutter will be going long
The open under player has got free and received the disk-as the disc is thrown the third in stack prepares to make their continuation cut
The cutter has thrown a lead pass (it is still in the air) to the continuation player who was third in the stack
The continuation player has the disc, their defender is behind them-notice how all the other players have started their movements up the pitch-the defence won't stop so you should move to help out the player on disc however you can-NB do not block out their throwing motion
And the player who had cut long break side receives an easy open side lead pass and we score-note this is only an example of how things could go-if number five hadn't been free then number 6 would have looked for the reset and then we would have set up an endzone-which is why moving up the pitch is so important!
