    Great defense here against us. Defender 2 is taking the first in. 1 Is taking negative. 5 has deep while 3 and 4 zone the open space. 6 is engaged, ready to shut down the second handler (6).

    Second handler (6) goes dishy, but isn't open. Back of stack (5) cuts in and engages poached defender (1). 4 takes deep defender (5). Cutters engage defenders.

  4. Step 4

    5 clears deep and takes defender 1 with him. 3 makes an in-cut and 1 goes to the negative space. Now we ask: Does defender 2 play his original assignment?

    If defender 2 plays his assignment, our primary option is open in negative space.

    But if he recognizes...

    Thrower (7) hits the in-cut (3). 1 clears deep.
