Pull
Disc is centered. Defense comes down the field. D#2,5,6 are the handler poaches/cup, D#1,3,7 are the mids (wing, short-deep, wing) and D#4 is the deep.
Defense sets against the centered disc. The handler poaches set in standard upfield lanes to force a swing to either sideline.
Disc is swung. Same-side wing (D#7) covers sideline cutter. Short-deep (D#3) covers the closest popper to the disc. Far side wing pinches in to threaten a floating break throw to the center.
Around throw to the center. The mark (D#5) chases, sets up a flat mark in the center. D#1 drops off in expectation of continuation. Short-deep (D#3) sees wing moving to cover O#5, so he switches to cover O#3.
To cover a slashing cut directly behind the handler poaches, the wing defenders drop off as soon as a popper crosses the same-side handler poach.
Mid-deep pinches in for a moment to threaten the shortest over-the top to the center.
The handler poaches move to follow a slashing cutter for a couple steps, though a throw to the cutter should not be covered in the center of the field if it is gaining no yards
When the disc gets closer to the sidelines, the handler defenders will rotate around to take away more of the backfield.
The cup and the mids are back in their traditional places, resembling a small cup around the disc with a looser cup behind.
The upfield member of the cup (D#2 here, D#6 on the opposite side of the field) covers crashes.
When the disc reaches the sideline, the cup defenders trap, forcing upfield.
The upfield continues to cover crashes so that the short-deep can cover the center of the field.
In case of a cross-field hammer or blade, the deep (D#4) drops to cover the last back, the same-side wing (D#7) prevents a yardage-gainer to the same-side handler (O#6), and the short-deep (D#3) takes away centering throws while the rest of the defense resets.
The cup forces toward the sideline.
