Initial position - occurs either after arriving in front of the zone after a regular (successful) offence play, or after finding yourself suddenly in an offence situation after a tournover. However, as you can see, we're all over the place, and wherever the disc is thrown, there are 50/50 chances that it will be blocked by the defence. Not worth risking. So, the captain or the handler will call a play, by screaming the play's "code name" - SEATTLE!!!
We all know what that means- the end-zone play is ON. We all go to our positions, by stacking ourselves in the middle of the field, and leaving two sides of the field much more empty, so that cuts can arrive into it. The first fake cut from the 2nd handler is coming, from the front of the stack.
The real cut of the 2nd handler goes to the oposite side, to swing the disc to the open side of the field
A cut from the back of the stack/zone to a corner - the cut has to arrive on the corner ON TIME - not too early, by no means. So, be on your toes, but hold yourself back until you hear the sound of the 2nd handler clapping her two hands to catch the disc. Only then, run like hell toward the corner. If you see that you're late a bit, speed up even more.
let's say you already stepped on the zone-line when catching the disc, so your are not inside the zone (not IN) and it is not a score. No problem - it was a nice try! Use the outside-in (OI) forehand throw to pass the disc back to the current handler so the game resets and a new attempt happens on the other side where the field is more open (less people clogging the zone). From here on, the rest of the play is the same, just flipped in a mirror - left is right, right is left, forehands are backhands, and backhands are forehands.
Notice how players who finished their task, either by receiving the disc after their cut, or not (a "sacrificial" cut), CLEAR BACK to the stack by RUNNING (not jogging). Their standing ground has to be cleared as sooner as possible for the new cuts which are coming there soon.
Notice how the stack readjust (pushes back or forward) as the players are recycling themselves from the previous cutting role.
