The basic 3-3-1 structure. 1, 2 and 3 form the cup. 4 is the break side wing. 5 is the middle middle. 6 is the open side wing. 7 is the deep deep.
The disc is swung from blue 1 to blue 3. The disc is close to the side line. Red 6 comes across to cover the potential throw to blue 5. The trap is called.
The line trap is set. 2 is on the disc. 1 takes away the dump space. 3 covers the up the line space. 6 covers the around 3 space. 5 pinches in to cover the infield space between 2 and 3. 4 pinches in to cover the infield space between 1 and 2. 7 covers the deep space.
Blue 5 attempts and easy short up the line gain. Red 6 moves towards the disc to cover this movement.
Blue 1 attempts a dump reset. Red 1 covers this cut.
If blue 2 and/or 4 attempts to exploit the space between red 1 and 2 or 2 and 3 red 4 and 5 moves toward the disc to cover this movement.
Blue 3 attempts to go over the top. Red 4, 5 and 7 cover this throw.
Disc back to thrower; how to stop the dump swing.
Blue 3 gets the dump throw to blue 1. Blue 2 is in position for the swing pass and blue 4 is ready for the continuation.
Red 4, the original break side wing needs to move towards the swing pass to delay the throw from blue 1 to blue 2.
The idea is delay the swing long enough for the line trap to be set again.
Or for the directional cup to set again.
