Step by step 6 steps
  1. Step 1

This is what it looks like when they stack up and the first cut is starting to be made. The force is flick. I'd like to try marking both handlers with our best cover marks (1 & 2) to make dumping really hard, regardless of their handlers' speed or gender. 7 should be someone who can out jump most people (Jefe, Russ, Ross, Noah). 4 needs to communicate with 3 (and sometimes 5) so that underneath cutters remain covered and 5 & 6 work to cut off breakmark cuts. Since 4 will almost always stay short, she or he can even face downfield instead of the handlers (called "face-guarding) to see the cutters coming.

  2. Step 2

See how 4 and 3 work together to cut off the underneath and 5 helps with throws to the front of the stack.

  3. Step 3

Their next cutter has nothing deep and will eventually have to come under. 6 and 4 let 5 know that there is a breakside cut and thus a shift is necessary.

  4. Step 4

Underneath cutting lanes are clogged, the deep is covered, and the dump is covered by one of our many fast players.

  5. Step 5

The only possible completions are very tough hammers or floaters. They won't work often. This will make them want to add a third handler, which then allows us to use our very similar ho stack sandwich defense.
