Step by step 8 steps
  1. Step 1

The Dishy cut is a typical handler cut that allows the main or primary hucking handler to get into a solid position and use their momentum to throw the disc down the field to a cutter going deep.

  2. Step 2

if the defender can not catch up to the handler, it gives the handler space and time to be able to successfully huck the disc to a streaking defender.

  3. Step 3

The dishy cut can be done straight from setting up a stack or during a play. In this scenario, H2 will take the disc first and try to throw it to someone, either a handler or cutter.

  4. Step 4

Let's say H2 is able to successfully pass it to cutter 1. Cutter 1 now has the disc and now is trying to find someone to pass it to.

  5. Step 5

1 throws it to 3 and the handlers try to set back up into their horizontal line up.

  6. Step 6

The other cutters try to set up in their vertical stack from step 2.

  7. Step 7

3 now has the disc and one of the handlers, either H2 or H3 will start streaking behind them to get the next pass. (H1 doesn't because they're too far from 3, on the opposite side of the field).

  8. Step 8

Since H3 was able to get past their defender very easily, they have A LOT of room (and time) to do what they want. Given the momentum that H3 carries from making that streaking cut to get the pass from 3, H3 can transfer that momentum/energy into their throw making their huck stronger.
