Step by step 5 steps
  1. Step 1

On the pull, the front 3 must get downfield fast to set up the force to the sideline. Offense Blue, Defense Red.

  2. Step 2

We want the disc to move close to the sideline. The new mark (2) is marking straight up and DOES NOT want to allow a throw up the sideline. The other two handler defenders (1 & 3) are playing man defense. These two are not going to let their man go upline or get a wide dump. Allowing a dump that is still close to the sideline is OK. We would have them trapped in nearly the same position. Number 4 is playing a middle zone, closing the middle lane. Number 4 is always looking for that dangerous backhand. 6 is playing upline zone defense, looking for any strike cuts or poppers. 5 is not letting anyone pop in AND looking for any high hammers. 7 is playing safety deep. So notice, 1,2,3 are playing man...... 4,5,6, 7 are playing a zone. From this point, 4 and 5 are also able to close upfield lanes.

  3. Step 3

If we wind up trapping on the opposite sideline, the jobs stay the same.

  4. Step 4

If 1 or 3 get beat, then we must ALL shift to the opposite side in order to CONTAIN any long breakswings. We want to CONTAIN any breaks, and force the disc back to that sideline.
