Step by step 7 steps
  1. Step 1

The dump swing play is a handler only play where the three handlers on the field move the disc from one side of the field to the other side giving the offense a better opportunity to make a good play.

  2. Step 2

    Assume force is flick

  3. Step 3

In this situation, H3 has the disc and is stuck on the side line. Unlike the other handler plays, the dump swing play can be done at stall 1, stall 2, or even at stall 4 or 5. The most important thing is to get the disc off the side line and to another team mate (either handler or cutter) by stall 6.

  4. Step 4

H3 and H2 SHOULD make eye contact with each other which is the signal to tell H2 to make a move.

  5. Step 5

H2 makes the fake up line and then goes back for a dump cut which means they run around behind H3. H3 will pass the disc to H2 as they make the dump cut. H1 needs to see this dump cut and move backwards.

  6. Step 6

Once H2 gets the disc, H1 keeps moving backwards to be the swing for H2 to pass it to.

  7. Step 7

Now the disc is on the other side of the field and H1 can either throw it back to H2 or 1, 2, or 3.
