Defense sets up a sideline trap. We set up on Offence with our horizontal stack
Middle handler tries to shake the cup player marking him and cuts for the dump
Cutter 4 cuts up line hoping to either get open behind mid or keep mid occupied and off the handlers
Cutter 5 attempt to find room in the hole between the mark and the sideline cupper. If he can't get open he again draws a mid to him.
6 can then cut into the space between the mid-mid and the deep, the deep is forced to follow him over to that side in case we throw a hammer.
At the same time that all of the above is happening, the wide handler cuts directly toward the disc. The player on the disc has to break the force to throw to this player who should be wide open
this handler can how either throw a continuation pass to the wide cutter
or if the mid takes this away hits a pass upfield to 6
If the trap gets really aggressive and the wide mid takes away the wide handler, we have acres of space behind the now 5 man cup to the break side. Handler 1 needs to find a throw that makes it out in this space for 6 or 7. A hammer works, as does a big break swing. On a windy day this throw will be difficult. Thus the handler picking up the disc needs to be our very best thrower.
