Step by step 10 steps
  1. Step 1

The most fundamental and simplest offense to run is the vertical stack.

  2. Step 2

Players line up vertically on the field , splitting the field into 2 "lanes" to use for cutting.

  3. Step 3

The person at the back of the stack is the only person that cuts. Right now, that is player 6. The player will make a cut and the player next in line will fill the empty spot. Everyone in the stack does this and the positions rotate.

  4. Step 4

This does 2 things: It gets player 5 in position to cut and creates a space for player 6 to "clear" to.

  5. Step 5

The clear is very important because it frees up the lane for the next cutter.

  7. Step 7

When a cutter catches the disc, everyone in the stack needs to move up the field, If the stack doesn't move, then the next cut will have no room to work with

  8. Step 8

player 3 runs to get in position to make a cut and the rest of the stack progresses up the field to get ready to cut. Meanwhile, player 4 is only looking at player 1 in order to get the disc back to a handler.

  9. Step 9

After player 4 throws the disc, they clear HARD to the front of the stack. Even though player 4 is getting in the way of the throw to player 3, its more important to get back to the stack fast and keep the pace of the offense the same.

  10. Step 10

Once player 3 clears, the field is back to the ideal setup and the normal vert stack sequence resumes.
