handler starts with disc
pass is caught on a sideline
normal mark is put on for 2-3 counts, then the mark yells "Taitung" as he shifts to take away backfield
D1 makes taking away the strike his sole job (shifting to the inside lane to always take away the upfield) while 7's only job is to take away the backfield
with 7 committing to the dump, everyone else tightens up to prepare for a risky throw when the dump doesn't work. 6 can't get beat under and 1 obviously can't get beat strike
a skilled dump will give himself space with the strike to come back for an inside throw. We want to make this throw difficult, but it doesn't put them in a power position, so it's not terrible to let it happen. It's better than giving up a strike or a big around. (6 can feel free to poach that lane since his cutter is not a threat when he clears.)
a less-skilled dump might try for the around, which the mark has to completely deny, because 1 has to continue to take away the strike lane
best case scenario: we get a high stall count and the thrower has to settle for tossing up a prayer to 4 or hitting losing yards by dumping right behind on the sideline to 1. D1 catches up and we throw a normal mark on the strong handler.
