Step by step 8 steps
  1. Step 1

A couple notes to begin: 1) Vert stack, 2 handlers, reset handler lines up on break side. This is standard for all of the plays we will use at the tourney. 2) Play is again based on a old Wreckhouse/Big Fish play called "Winter."

  2. Step 2

Opposite of "Nail," this play sees the first two in the stack cut deep (vs. the last two cutting in).

  3. Step 3

At this point, the play becomes very similar to Nail. We could do something different later, but for this tourney let's keep it simple. 1) The cutters going deep continue to clear and return to the stack. 2) front of stack cuts deep. 3) Back of stack cuts in.

  4. Step 4

By this time we're getting high in the stall count. We're looking for that pass to the guy cutting in, but can also bomb it. If neither is viable, the handler must look to reset, as the stall is likely at 7 by this point.

  5. Step 5

If we assume that the pass to the guy cutting in does get made...

  6. Step 6

The play continues with flow the same - cuts deep from the front and in from the back. However, remember that opportunity trumps - if you can cut to space for a play without causing a pick, do it.
