This is another play I came up with. It would be extremely effective if the wing defenders #7 was poaching deep. The play would also work pretty well if wing defender #7 is playing honest but is unsuspecting and if Offense#7 is a beast. The play would likely fall apart if wing defender #7 is taking away the under and poaching in. The play uses the wings again, some misdirection from the other three cutters and break throws. *Wings rarely start the plays in Ho-Stack. This is something that we and many other teams know just from playing. I say we use this information against teams.
Play starts SEEMINGLY normally with #5 and #6 cutting deep and also towards the right sideline. #4 Should also start cutting deep and pushing towards the middle of the field.
As I mentioned.. If wing defender #7 poaches and tries to help then it really frees up our #7...
Let's assume for a second that defender #7 doesn't poach... Oline #7 can still get open with a strong cut
O line #7 cuts towards the middle (sort've a break.. Hopefully burning his defender giving him a lot of room to get a backhand throw off. Meanwhile #4 #5 and #6 are still cutting and towards the right sideline.
Timing is important as always.. There is only a small window that #7 has to throw a backhand now before his defender catches up... #6 now has to cut towards the backhand side. Handlers must also move up during this time. #3 would go straight down and become the new wing. #2 becomes dump option.
Hopefully #7 can get a throw off to #6
As you can see a lot of the mid-steps resembled somewhat of a Vert stack. Same thing applies for #6.. He only has so much time to get a break throw backhand off and must hit either #4 or #5. #4 Should cut deep and #5 should try for the backhand under. As you can see by the red arrows... #6 has two throwing options.
If for whatever reason neither throw can go off because defenders downfield are playing well or the mark catches up in time then play goes back to normal. We have a lot of time... These quick breakthrows are only a look for 1-3 stall counts.. then we should look back to our dump and get into our normal stack
Let's take it back to a couple throws earlier when #7 got the disc from the starting handler position. Once again the first look we want is a backhand to #6 and hopefully it will be there.
If defenders #7 or #6 stop this play form happening... Our thrower #7 should pivot and then #5 should look for the incut.
