  1. Step 1

    Starting off with a handler near the force sideline. At some point, the handler will want to dump. Maybe it is stall 4. Maybe there were no good initial looks.

  2. Step 2

    Dump set is initiated by the thrower rotating toward the dump with their hips. Fully commit...don't just glance! GLANCES ARE DEATH

  3. Step 3

    The dump makes a cut, either to the backfield or upline.

  4. Step 4

    If they get it in the backfield, they can fire off a swing to a cutter from the stack.

    Reset

    If the first cut isn't successful, and there is room, the dump can attempt a second cut

    The around throw was cut off, so let's go upline! NOTE: Be careful on upline throws...if you float the throw, you leave your cutter liable to a collision!

    Teams like Berkeley run a modified two cut set.

    They lead with a big run up the back field. If it is open, they take that throw.

    But they use the momentum to loop into an upline

    If you don't get the dump, make sure you clear for an emergency throw to the front of the stack or a huck.
