Step by step 9 steps
  1. Step 1

    Off handler picks up pull and centers to primary handler.

    1 cut sets up.

    1 cut gets disc underneath as 2 cut sets up and side stack cutters move downfield to adjust to disc movement.

  4. Step 4

    2 cut gets disc underneath, side stack cutters now transition into ho-stack by spreading the field and setting up continuation cuts.

    2 cut dumps back to handler and now the ho-stack is fully in position. Side note: 1 cut is what we have referred to as the "Hybrid". From now on, we will simply just call it "1 cut". It will be understood that the role of "1 cut" is to initiate side stack offense, initiate endzone offense, and to be a fill handler when a third is needed. Also take note of how 1 cut and 2 cut cleared away from the disc side of the field once they made their plays. This is called cycling and is why ultimate is a team sport, not just an individual showcase. You clear space so that your teammates have better opportunities to get open.

    1 cut and 2 cut are the only personnel to be occupying endzone space. Notice the 3 handlers spread with one dropped back.

    1 cut gets the disc out of the endzone, far side handler fills in as an endzone cutter.
