When the disc is trapped on the sideline, the available space for throwing moves to the trap side of the field. In order to create space in this part of the field, the cutting and clearing motion has to adapt. In this situation the trap is on the right side of the field.
Cutter 4 will clear the sideline space. This should happen immediately. There is no need to wait. In fact, cutter 4 can even start before the stall if the disc is live. In this offense, cutter 4 clears deep which gives him the option to make a cut to the endzone if the next cut is successful.
Cutter 3 makes an in cut or out cut depending on his preference. Cutters 1 and 2 shift toward the trap sideline and cutter 4 fills in on the opposite sideline.
Cutter 3 clears to the opposite sideline, cutter 2 chooses to make an in cut, and cutters 4 and 1 shift toward the trap sideline.
Cutter 2 clears to the opposite sideline, cutter 1 chooses to make an out cut, and cutters 3 and 4 shift toward the trap sideline. When making a deep cut it is important for cutter 1 to maintain his spacing away from the sideline. This creates a larger throwing window.
Cutter 1 clears to the opposite sideline, cutter 4 chooses to make an in cut, and cutters 2 and 3 shift toward the trap sideline.
