Step by step 8 steps
  1. Step 1

Vertical Stack - players 1 to 3 are handlers, players 4 to 7 are cutters.

  2. Step 2

The first cutter will be the first cutter in the stack - easy to remember, and all the other cutters can see and react to the cut.

  3. Step 3

The next cutter in line will read and play off the first cutter, in this case trying to get open on the break side.

  4. Step 4

If a pass can't be completed up field, the handler will look to the dump (player 2). The dump is positioned at about a 45 degree angle behind and to the side of the handler on the open side.

  5. Step 5

This means they can go up field...

  6. Step 6

    or...

  7. Step 7

behind the handler, depending on what their defender is allowing.

  8. Step 8

I'll post more plays based on each possibility as we go forward! For now, know that if the disc goes up field, then the next cutters in line make their cuts. If the disc goes behind the thrower, then player 3, the handler at the front of the stack, cuts breakside (shown in the play) and we move the disc up that line.
