setting up, vert cuts in a order, 1,2,3,4 or 4,3,2,1. the most common cut is a out than in cut like so
and clears out toward the break side
and continues order
handler act like normal. The point of vert is to split field into 2 side, open being a cutting lane and the break being a 1v1 cutting lane but that rarely happens unless its a play
this is split, unlike vert the idea here is to open the entire field into a cutting lane like creating a 1v1 cut with 30x30 ft. of space to cut in, same with order pattern, usally alternates sides
one side starts cut
follows through with next cut starting
very effective with a powerful cutter team. teams dont run it as much but if unexpected it can wreck a defense very well
side line is a combo of vert and split, making a even larger cutting lane but the only problem is within few throws a cutter can be trapped on sideline
very rough to defend, although horizontal cuts are frowned down upon, its hard to defend with this angle
finally dominator which so far only works for one team (university of minnesota duluth). roughly described as turning 7 on 7 into 3v3 with a iso, kind of like a iso play but throught the entire field. the idea is the handlers slowly work up the field with a iso making the occasional 15 yard catch. this is very effective when handlers are mismatched with the defenders and switching defenders will cause a man to go deep
