Step 1

O8 carries the ball down the wing. D4 goes out to close them down, and the center backs (D2 and D3) drop toward the goal.

Step 2

D4 shows O8 outside, toward the end line. D3 takes the near post area, D2 and D1 the far post, D6 and D7 the edge of the box.

Step 3

O8 crosses toward the near post. D3 is on the side the ball comes from, ahead of O9, and the GK stays in goal.

Step 4

D3 heads it high and wide. D8 gets to the clearance first, and the defenders step out of the box together.

Step 5

The ball is out of the danger area. O's forwards have come back out of the box with D's line, and D8 has the ball.
