Set up the marks / wall.
disc swings to the sideline, the mark on that side forces the disc back to the middle. The wing on that side stays alert to prevent an immediate downfield throw.
On the sideline, like in our other zone, the off mark (3) should be pressuring the dump. If the dump crashes in and gets the disc, the flat marker goes back on. This helps contain that forward movement. The dumps are getting pressured again by 1 and 3. The wings and mid are watching for floaty stuff over the top and for the continue throws.
If the disc goes off to a popper downfield, unless the popper is directly on the sideline, the flat mark will go on. The wings and deep will cover the continuations downfield. The other off marks will work to get spots to block lateral dump movement. Do not pinch in on the dumps backfield, because it leaves two wide lanes on the flick and backhand side open.
If they keep four back to try and deal with the number of marks, remember that we are letting throws that go BACKWARDS and MIDDLE off, just like in our previous zone. If the 5 doesn't have anyone in their space, the wing can even pinch in on the off side handler and the 5 can watch the central popper.
If a throw goes off that breaks through the middle or goes past about mid field, the deep can call to switch to a person defense.
