Initial set up straight after a handler reset where the initial open side dump (3) has cut from the open side straight behind the handler to the breakside to receive a pass from the handler (2) in a power position with their defender trailing behind. *Note: because the open side dump (3) was engaged, the breakside dump (1) cut upline in front of the handler (2) to clear the open side handler's (3) throwing lane and switch sides while keeping the centre handler in the middle as a pivot.
*REGARDLESS OF THE FORCE, WINGS ALWAYS CUT UNDER, NEARSIDE MID ALWAYS CUTS DEEP* Immediately after the reset, the nearside wing (4) cuts under and the nearside mid (5) cuts straight deep to initiate a diamond pattern. Meanwhile; * The two dumps (2 and 1) should get into their new positions as dumps for the new handler (3). (Note: the defender (3) for the new handler (3) shall be drawn as always trailing and not properly marked up for this play to illustrate the power position that occurs after the handler reset). * The far side mid (6) and the far side wing (7) should piston to keep their defenders occupied and stretch the width of the pitch while also looking for a potential pass (likely to be as an io inside break or a cross field hammer).
If nobody gets the disc; The nearside wing (4) should clear straight breakside while still looking for a pass (likely to be an io inside or oi around break throw) and the nearside mid (5) should continue their cut straight deep. Meanwhile, the far side mid (6) and the far side wing (7) should continue to piston to keep their defenders occupied and stretch the width of the pitch while also looking for a potential pass (likely to be as an io inside break or a cross field hammer).
If nobody still gets the disc; The nearside wing (4), now in the nearside middle position, should cut straight deep and the nearside mid (5) should slash diagonally under towards the wing to look for a mid to deep range pass to their under cut. Meanwhile, the far side mid (6) and the far side wing (7) should continue to piston to keep their defenders occupied and stretch the width of the pitch while also looking for a potential pass (likely to be as an io inside break or a cross field hammer).
If nobody still gets the disc, repeat the diamond; The nearside wing (4), now in the nearside middle position, should continue their cut straight deep to look for a deep pass and the nearside mid (5) should cut under to look for and under pass. Meanwhile, the far side mid (6) and the far side wing (7) should continue to piston to keep their defenders occupied and stretch the width of the pitch while also looking for a potential pass (likely to be as an io inside break or a cross field hammer).
If nobody still gets the disc, complete the diamond again; The nearside wing (4), now in the nearside middle position, should continue their cut straight deep to look for a deep pass and the nearside mid (5) should clear straight breakside while still looking for a pass (likely to be an io inside or oi around break throw). Meanwhile, the far side mid (6) and the far side wing (7) should continue to piston to keep their defenders occupied and stretch the width of the pitch while also looking for a potential pass (likely to be as an io inside break or a cross field hammer).
Repeat the diamonds until stall 2 when the handlers should turn to engage their dumps for a handler reset. *Note: it's likely that there may only be time to run the diamond pattern once (most likely even less than once) or that the cutters will be mid diamond cut before the handler reset happens.
At approximately stall 2, the handler (or cutter in possession of the disc) should turn to engage their dumps for a handler reset. This is a signal for ALL cutters to cut straight deep fast to clear space of the handlers and for the dumps to make their dump cuts; * The nearside dump (2) should make either an upline cut in front of the handler (3) for an oi around break throw or a straight downfield cut for an io when engaged. * The far side dump (1) should make a delayed straight cut towards the handler (3) for an easy around centering throw into space when engaged and, if they don't get that pass, copy what the nearside dump (2) did by continuing their run into an upline cut or downfield cut. *Note: if the initial nearside dump (2) doesn't get the pass after making their dump cut, it is very important that they clear the space by running straight across the pitch in the direction of the far sideline before getting back into position to clear the space for the second dump (1) to make their cut.
