Ho Stack Set-Up: -3 Handlers back and 4 cutters upfield -Handlers should be set up 45° back on the open side and even on the break side. -Cutters 4 & 7 should be standing all the way on the sidelines (1-5 yards) to spread the field and open up space. -Cutters 5 & 6 should be closer together in the middle of the field. Note: The goal of the Ho Stack is to allow cuts to get open anywhere on the field, aka several lanes to cut in and out of, so maintaining spacing and this general setup is very important to ensuring we can run the Ho Stack effectively.
Flow: -The two cutters closest to the disc are the "active" cutters (Cutters 5 & 6). -There will be TWO cutters active when a handler is looking downfield. General Rule: We will initiate the flow with the cutter on the open side (Cutter 6). In other words, the first cut should come from the open side cutter. -Cutter 6 initiates the flow with a strong fake. Cuts can go deep/under.
-Cutter 6 makes and under cut to the open side. -As Cutter 6 finishes their cut, Cutter 5 should be setting up their cut to the open side.
General Rule: You should be clearing to the BREAK SIDE in most cases. There should be a sense of urgency when clearing. -Cutter 6 CLEARS BREAK SIDE as Cutter 5 makes an under cut.
-Cutter 6 continues to clear back to their original position. -Cutter 5 CLEARS BREAK SIDE.
-If both cutters don't get the disc, they should clear back to their original positions. -Around stall 4 or 5, Handler 2 should look to swing the disc to one of the other two handlers. -Handler 1 strikes and gets the disc. -The rest of the stack should already be moving upfield as the throw goes up.
-Back to the original set-up. -Cutter 6 initiates their cut. -Handler 2 clears even on the break side.
-Cutter 6 makes a continuation cut. Cutter 5 initiates their cut.
