If the disc goes to the sideline initially and begins a dribble on the sideline, you ideally want to look to extend the dribble to the hat player. So as to play in the middle.

Or if the hat player is not an option, or if the dribblers are having a good (easy) time, then they should aim to direct the dribble towards the centre of the field.

The hat should then look to either: move to the empty shape point, or move in the same direction as the dribble i.e towards the far side shape point.
