Step by step 8 steps
  1. Step 1

In Part I, we only display the cases where only one of Red 3,4,5 is cutting. The reality can be more complicated.

  2. Step 2

Let's suppose that Red 3 is now going deep and Red 5 is cutting up-field.

  3. Step 3

Remind that we are not in a man-man defense, which means everyone is defending an area rather than a specific player. If Red 3 continues cutting down-field, Red 3 will eventually leave Blue 3's territory and rush into the space guarded by Blue 5. Correspondingly, Red 5 is rushing towards the space defended by Blue 3. At this time, Blue team needs to quickly read the situation. Blue 3 should stop chasing Red 3 and focus on Red 5. Similarly, Blue 5 should turn to Red 3 in case of a big huck from Red 2.

  4. Step 4

At this time, the stalling count might have been 4 or 5. Then, as Red 3, 4, 5 are all closely guarded, Red 2 needs to swing the disc to Red 1 to reset the stalling count. At the moment, Blue 1 puts a lot of pressure to Red 2's throw, making sure that Red 1 is unable to catch the swing unless he/she step back to the safe field behind. In the meantime, Blue 2 step a few steps back in case that Red 1 gains a transient opportunity for an immediate forward-pass.

  5. Step 5

During the swing, Red 3, 4, 5 will not stop their paces. Suppose that Red 3 cuts back after the deep cut attempt is frustrated. Then, as the deep field is open again, Red 4 seeks the opportunity to go for the second deep cut. Red 5 is both clearing out the left side for Red 3, and attacking the right area. How may the blue team organize their defense? Right! Blue 3 turns back for Red 3, Blue 4 blocks Red 5, and Blue 5 chases Red 4. In the meantime, Blue 1 set his force-middle mark, preventing Red 1 from throwing to the left. After all these demonstrated plays, the blue team maintain the initial form, keeping everyone's relative location unchanged

  6. Step 6

There is a possibility that the disc is throwed to the center of the crowd by a high-release, a hammer or a blade. In this case, the disc's trajectory will be a large parabola going downwards, and it will take relatively longer time before the disc reaches the cutter. If this happens, everyone near the disc should go for it.

  7. Step 7

Let's reset the position. What displays now is the initial positioning, symmetric to that we see in Part I.
