Step by step 4 steps
  1. Step 1

Symbols: Blue = offense, I'll call their players O1 O2 O3. Red is defense, I'll call them D1 D2 D3. White is the disc. * We're going upward and force is forehand. * test * another test Setup: O1 just caught or picked up the disc on the sideline. O2 sets up 10-15 yards from the sideline, either horizontal from the disc or like 1 step forward. O3 is like 2/3 the way across the field horizontally, also horizontal or a little forward from the disc. If O1 just caught a pass then O2 needs to RUN to get to their spot, or we'll be late initiating the next step.

  2. Step 2

O1's job: look at cutters for literally 1-2 seconds, then try to pivot and throw a break to O2. Leading them into the space behind them is good. You don't need them to already be moving, just trust that they understand you might throw into that space. Dave's note: I find that faking a flick forward right before I pivot back to break is really good for getting my mark to jump the wrong way. O2's job: Be ready to run back for this throw to space but don't start cutting until O1 looks at you. It's fine to be horizontal from the disc or 1 step forward. Dave's note: When I'm O2 I like to kinda "bounce" and try to act like I might be about to burn upline even though I secretly know I'm not going to move until O1 looks at me. It helps keep my defender off balance and often leaves the swing to me wide open since they're worried about the upline cut. This slideshow shows the "plan A" progression where we get the swing off. In real life we could fail to get the swing off because D1 did a good job on the mark, OR because D2 is positioned too well. It's totally fine if that happens but I'm putting that version in a separate slideshow: https://www.ultiplays.com/shares/JekE0wrom5Iw53n33Mj9 Note on timing: It's really important to start this progression EARLY in the count. If O1 is a cutter who just caught an under, we need O2 to RUN forward to their starting spot. The other cutters are also initially in that space, and they need to RUN forward to set up new cuts and get out of the handlers' way. O1 should try to keep track out of the corner of their eye, and don't turn for the reset until O2 has gotten in position, since your best chance to break the mark is literally right away as you turn.

  3. Step 3

In this case we got the reset off. O2's first look should be for the 2nd swing if possible as shown here. If that doesn't work, just look at the cutters and play regular offense. O1 should hustle to their new spot after getting their initial throw off. This slide acts like O1 was a handler so they run back to be a reset option for O2. If O1 was a cutter then they'd instead run upfield, probably becoming inactive at first since other cutters should be in better position to make the next cut.
