Step by step 9 steps
  1. Step 1

Standard starting position. Player 3 makes an in cut...

  2. Step 2

...and gets the disk. Now they have a choice - turn and look up field or keep looking at the handlers and dump the disk. The choice is determined by their confidence throwing. If they're confident, they can turn and throw. If they're less confident, they dump. Lets say player 3 is confident in their throwing ability.

  3. Step 3

The rest of the offense moves to maintain the H-stack around the disk, moving into the most proximal position for them to maintain the stack. The handler labeled 5 moves into the 1 cutting position, the 1 dot moves into the 2 cutting position, and the 2 and 4 dots push further up the field to set up cuts. If one cuts before the other, they have priority and the other sets up for the next cut.

  4. Step 4

Lets say 4 makes the next cut, catching the disk along the sideline...

  5. Step 5

Again, the rest of the offense moves to maintain the H-stack.

  6. Step 6

Now lets reset near the beginning and say 3 doesn't get the disk. 3 will then make a clear out cut. This is not a jog, but another viable cut. The principle to keep in mind is to cut away from your defender and into the open space, so where 3 is relative to their defender, they should cut to the left, or break side of the field.

  7. Step 7

3 is now open again and gets the disk. From here play is the same, with the offense moving around to reset the stack. A break throw creates a great opportunity to develop a momentum play though so the next good, viable cuts can come right after 3 gets the disk, throwing it to handler 5 cutting up the sideline, cutter 1 sitting on the sideline with their defender poaching he deep lane off of them, or cutter 2 who has likely already started setting up their cut in case 3 didn't get the disk.

  8. Step 8

Last situation. Reset to 3 not getting it on the in cut. They cut to the side away from their defender and toward open space. This time it's to the right, or the open side of the field. Lets say it isn't thrown to them. What do they do? Two clear out options are to the force side handler position and have the force side handler " bump" up the sideline to the 4 position while the 4 is setting up their cut. The other option is 3 makes their clear out cut to the sideline, then moves into cutting position 4 while 4 is setting up their cut into the open space. Either way, the H -stack spacing is preserved as are the open spaces.
