Step by step 8 steps
  1. Step 1

Initial setup - Three handlers (1, 2, 3) and two break-side cuttters (4, 5). Disc is centered, and stall count starts at 3. In a game, this would mean that the first cut has already happened and been looked off.

  2. Step 2

HANDLER MOVEMENTS: The primary wheel look is at the force-side handler moving to the break space. It is important that the throw go to the break space, rather than leave the handler stuck on the force side. Meanwhile, the break-side handler (1) clears the space with a strike cut. This is a viable look, and more on this later.

  3. Step 3

CUTTER MOVEMENTS: When the wheel is initiated, the farthest break-side cutter (4) clears the space - again, remember the strong vs. weak space concept. The left side of the field is ABOUT to be strong, and (4) is in it, so they should clear out of it. Meanwhile, (5) prepares to move.

  4. Step 4

The wheel cut is thrown to. (4) has begun to clear the space, and should continue their clear all the way to the opposite sideline (remembering that in a game, cutters (6) and (7) exist and should fill)

  5. Step 5

    (4) continues their clear, and (5) may now cut either deep or in, and this can be dependent on what the defender is allowing.

  6. Step 6

Back to the original setup. If the handler decides to throw to the strike cutter, the cutter continue now lies with (4). (5) should clear the space. Also note that in a game, (6) exists and should also clear the space, similarly to how (5) does so here (remember, the space that (6) is in is ABOUT to be strong, so it should be cleared).

  7. Step 7

The strike cut is thrown to, and (5) has cleared. Note that (4) has made the same "clear" as if the wheel were the throw, but now, (4) is the viable cutter, and can go deep or come underneath.
