There are 4 players directly responding to and clogging the throwers options (1-4). 1 is always the mark and will force sideline. 2 and 3 are a flat wall. 4 is the shortstop (SS) and will communicate to the mark (1) which position to cut off. 5, 6, and 7 create a triangle in the backfield to cover handlers, their positions are flexible and interchangeable.
Currently the mark is at 0* - the force is towards the sideline and the dump is not a threat. If they swing...
Swings and crashes are allowed but we do not want to let them break the mark. The mark is at 45* now - the SS has called this to cover the dump option.
Since the dump came all the way behind, the SS calls out 90* to the mark. The SS now covers the inside break and 2 and 3 cover directly upfield with high hands.
Let's say they get the dump
and swing it a bit
the Faux cup sets the same but just mirrored. the 2 and 3 always try to run as flat as possible avoiding losing yards by running forwards and backwards. Mark is at 0*
