We are on offense in our horizontal stack. We are only discussing handler dump movement, so we will not be concerning ourselves with downfield movement for this demonstration unless we're looking at the continuation from the handler.
The defense is forcing flick in this situation, so the force side handler (3) sets up roughly 45 degrees back from the center handler, about 7-10 yards away.
When the dump is initiated by 2, both handler 1 and 3 will essentially be moving simultaneously. Our first look is for 3 coming straight behind the disc, looking for a squared up dishy dump pass from 2.
We now have the disc on the break side, and should have an easy under continuation look from 4 right away. Notice 1 is clearing out of the way at this point .
At this point, 4 is a temporary handler. 1 clears to the rail until there is a time to come back and handle. 3 fills in as the dump at a 45 degree angle, 2 spreads to now be the far side handler.
Reset.
3 looks for the dump, but is guarded, so 1 becomes the second option.
1 cuts across to the open side for an upline dump reset. We are not pushing too far upline to where we're in traffic from cutters and downfield defenders, but cutters should still be aware of this cut.
2 could push upline for a quick give and go option. Otherwise, reset.
Reset.
If the defense if giving you the upline from the start, this is another viable cut to take advantage, just going straight upline. *Note: Any time we get it in power position like this on the force side, we should have a deep cut coming from a different third as an option.
