INITIAL POSITION: 1 has the disc trapped on the sideline, with a forehand mark. 2 is the dump. 3 is the third handler in the weave. 4 is mostly useless in this drill, they represent the rest of the vert stack, and some of their possible continuation cuts are marked with errors. Because playspedia has issues, we'll be returning to this position lots.
OPTION A: throw the open dump. Label this as DUMPED POSITION, we will return to this.
Reset to INITIAL POSITION. OPTION A is not on.
OPTION B: 2 goes up the line for a big gain. This is a good time for 4 to make a deep cut
Reset to INITIAL POSITION. OPTION A is not on.
OPTION B is not on.
OPTION B': 2 makes a small 7-cut back toward the middle of the field for an IO break. Note that this is very much situational/optional. If 2's defender has over-committed on the open side, it's possible this IO break is on. If the team is playing with a very deep vert stack, this option also gains more appeal, because the whole break side is open. Sometimes, the cutter/handler will just skip looking for this.
Reset to INITIAL POSITION. OPTION A is not on.
OPTION B is not on. OPTION B' is not on.
OPTION C: 3 cuts back to the middle handler spot for a dump. We are back to the INITIAL position with 2 and 3 having switched positions.
Reset to INITIAL POSITION
OPTION B is not on.
OPTION C is not on.
Repeat the weave ad infinitum (until stall 10 or one of the options is open)!
Reset to INITIAL POSITION.
A dump has happened (either right off the bat or after a weave rotation or two). We are back at the DUMPED POSITION.
OPTION D: Swing! 4 (someone in the stack) cuts into the break side and 2 puts something floaty out there for them. This is a great gainer to the break side, giving us both upfield yards and opening up the opportunity for more breaks.
Reset to DUMPED POSITION. Assume a dump has just happened.
OPTION D is not on. A big fake here will get 2's defender to "swoop", i.e. overextend to the break side.
2 gets it back to 1 with a throw-n-go. Because 2's defender is so far to the break side, 2 has a ~~wide open~~ up-line cut!
OPTION E: Similar to option B but even more open. We call this the Dylan Freechild play.
