With the ho-stack, you can see the "thirds" of the field with the cutter/handler combinations (145, 256, 367). Because the disc has started on the left side, the corresponding cutters will start to cut.
Cutters 4 and 5 will have to communicate with one another to decide who will be making which cut first. For our team, "A" will be a deep cut and "B" will be an underneath cut so the defense doesn't know what cuts you'll be making. In this example, 5 will make a B cut while 4 makes an A cut. The deep cut is always the first option for the handler. 6 should shuffle towards 7 so there is plenty of open space.
DON'T FORGET YOUR FAKES!
4 makes the A cut, 5 makes the B cut.
If 4 beats their defender and the deep throw is there, the handler hits you with that TB12 shit. Notice that 5 did not get the disc and returns to the stack as everyone moves up the field incase we have not scored. In this case, we scored.
*Reset to "4 makes the A cut, 5 makes the B cut".
If 4 does not beat their defender and 5 gets the disc. 4 should be cutting back for a continuation B cut. 6 should now go deep as a continuation option for 5. REMEMBER TO RUN THROUGH THE DISC!
Now that 5 has caught the disc. They look for those continuation throws. If one isn't wide open, then they MUST look for a dump to a handler while the rest of the stack resets itself further up the field.
*****DUMP SWING TO RIGHT SIDE PART 1***** -Cutters should be watching to where the disc goes as that tells them they should talk about what cuts they're doing and start cutting. Because the disc goes to the center, 6 goes for possibly deep but disc is immediately swung
*****DUMP SWING TO RIGHT SIDE PART 2***** As 3 catches the disc, 6 and 7 have already decided what they're doing and have started their cuts. This time, 6 will do an A cut and 7 will do a B cut. Don't forget to fake! 5 shuffles towards 4 to make sure there is open space.
6 makes an A cut and 7 makes a B cut.
If 6 beats their defender and the deep throw is there, again, the handler goes Tom Brady on their ass. Notice that 7 did not get the disc and returns to the stack as everyone moves up the field in case we have not scored. In this case, we scored.
*Reset to "4 makes the A cut, 5 makes the B cut".
If 6 does not beat their defender and 7 does not get the disc either. 4 should be cutting back for a B cut. 6 should now do an A cut. REMEMBER TO MAKE THESE CUTS IN YOUR LANES. Handlers are preparing for a dump-swing and other cutters are preparing to cut.
6 and 7 still didn't get open, 3 will look for the dump.
OH NO! The swing to handler 1 is not available and 3 isn't open either. 2 now keeps the disc and looks for his cutters which are cutters 5 and 6. 6 is already making a B cut during the swing, so they will continue that while 5 makes an A cut.
5 makes the A cut but fails to get open, 6 continues the B cut but doesn't get open. 5 now goes for the B cut while 6 goes for the A
2 doesn't like their chances of making a good throw and looks for a dump to 1.
1 and 2 use a simple "give and go" play to advance the disc up the field. 1 fills in 2's position in the center. 6 resets themselves in the stack. 4 and 5 then reverse their cuts from A to B and B to A
JUST BECAUSE THIS HAPPENED DOESN'T MEAN THAT THE CUTTER/HANDLER COMBOS HAVE CHANGED. THEY CORRESPOND TO THE "THIRDS" OF THE FIELD. New combos are 245, 156, 367. They will change through out the point.
4 makes A cut, 5 makes a B cut.
4 doesn't get open, neither does 5. They now reverse cuts. 4 makes a B, 5 makes an A
5 is open for the deep! But we haven't scored yet. Everyone heads up field! 6 goes for the continuation throw for the point, but is not open.
5 makes the dump to handler 1 and goes back into the stack.
6 being super smart and knowing ho-stack after watching this tutorial sees where the disc is going and makes the appropriate B cut. 1 hits 2 for the score!!!
On a turnover, cover who covered you! That's Ho-stack! woohoo!!!!
