When the disc is trapped, the closest two cutters take a step in then bust deep.

As they go deep, the third cutter in now has all the force side space to get open in. They can cut however they feel will be the best to get open.

The initial sideline cutter becomes the first continuation, the other clearing cutter is the second continuation.
