Red is offence, blue is defence, and yellow is the disc. This is the horizontal (ho) offensive set up. Three handlers back and four cutters all along the same plane.
Because the disc is in the middle, the two cutters closest to the middle are the ones initiating movement. #5 slashes diagonally from open to break side. #6 cuts deep.
In game situation, defense will catch up.
If #5 & 6 don't recieve the disc, they continue their movement to the net spot of the "triangle", #5 goes deep and #6 comes diagonally under.
In game situation, defense will catch up.
Neither player receives disc, they will continue running in the "triangle" pattern.
Now let's see what this looks at when the disc is off to the far side. The two players closest to the disc are # 4 & 5, they will be ones making the cuts.
#4 slashes from open to break side and #5 strikes deep.
In game situation, defense will catch up.
#4 & 5 continue their movement in the triangle. #5 comes under and now #4 goes deep.
Defense will catch up.
Now let's say #5 receive the disc. Their defense will catch up. #4 will get out of the way and bring their defense out of the way. #7 cut will deep as a continuation for #5.
#5 will pass to #7.
