Greetings, Red is defense and blue is offense. Red pulls disc.
Blue sets up horizontal stack. Red forces forehand throws.
Cutter #3 will usually cut first since he is on the foreside of the disc. Cutter #2 will simultaneous set up following #3. Cutters #1 and #4 stay still, but are aware of swinging (handler throwing) , continuation (cutting following a catch) and poaching (defense playing off their man)
In this simulation, Cutter #3 is covered by defender and needs to clear (get out of throwing path) for the next cut to happen. This is done by doing a "7-cut' breakside while looking for a break throw. Cutter #2 has the option to cut in or deep. In this case, he cuts deep at a slight angle toward the breakside. Cutter #1 fills open slot and waits for continuation or swing.
Stack resets and awaits swing or handler reset
Cutter #4 gets involved once the disc is caught near their sideline and responds by clearing breakside as the disc is caught to give a breakside look and opening space.
Cutter #4 also initiates cuts off foreside swing and can set up cut by chiseling (charging at defender during the swing, then making cut)
Continuation.
With the horizontal stack reseted in the middle, what happens when the disc is swung breakside?
After the swing, Cutter #2 becomes the initiation and Cutter #1 sets up.
Cutter #2 "7 cuts" and Cutter #1 has the option and cuts in.
One last point. The breakside cut for cutters is a option when there is a breakside throw. The next steps show an example of this.
Normal startup
Cutter #3 receives an breakside look while doing his 7 cut
Cutter #1 cuts breakside and receives. Cutter #2 starts cutting deep
Cutter #2 catches for a big gain.
