Red (the other team) plays a zone defense on us. Blue (us!) forms the letter "X" in the midfield with players 3,4,5,6 and 7. Player 2 will go for the swing.
The swing is made to player 2.
The Blue "wings" go opposite directions (one SHORT, one LONG) opening up the defense as Player 2 looks for a quick pass up the sideline.
If another SAFE pass is available, we continue moving up the field. If not we dump back to the handler and do it all over again, making sure the "x-wing" is back in formation.
The swing is made again AND blue gets back in the "X-WIng" formation.
The wings split deep and long again, but this time the handler goes with the open long person. the deep defender on team red (#7) can't guard both blue players running deep (#'s 5 and 7), so the pass is made to the open blue (#5).
What about blue # 3 though? What does he do? He will basically help out where needed. -He will cut back to the disc to try and get a pass if the two handlers are having trouble swinging. -He will be an extra cutter to help out the wings when the swing is made. -He will be a continuation pass up the field if the swing is made and passed to the wing (the wing would then pass to him.)
